February goals and milestones

February goals and milestones

January is done and gone, thank goodness! I seriously felt like it lasted about 97 days long, coupled with all the snow, sleet, rain and days upon days in a row with no sunlight I’m happy to finally say hello to February. With a new month brings new goals and new pages in my Bullet Journal to plan them in, which is always exciting! I also love goal-setting, it weirdly brings me so much joy.

Even though I love setting goals I sometimes struggle to keep them so I went looking for help with this. I recently read this post by Michelle, who writes at Daisybutter, all about setting focuses and using smaller milestones to help achieve your bigger goals and it really helped me sort out what I want to focus on this month. Fun fact – I noticed she followed my blog and I let out the tiniest of squeals, she’s one my faves!

So I sat down with a notebook and thought about the bigger things that I wanted to achieve this month, wrote them down and then underneath each one scribbled down some idea into how I might achieve my goals and set them as smaller milestones. I really think I’ll do much better with this than I did in January, as the only goal I accomplished last month was not using any heat on my hair, not even a hairdryer! I was kind of proud of that one, but my other goals fell by the wayside so here’s hoping I can do better.

I’ve listed a few of my goals here, but kept some of the more personal ones private.

Flatlay - notebook, glasses, keyboard

Start selling designs again

Research designs that I like and take inspiration from
Come up with some rough sketch/ideas for further development
Create designs in appropriate format and style
Pitch ideas to prospective clients
Sell some designs (hopefully)

Record a Bullet Journal video

Decide on the content for the video (plan with me, flip through etc)
Learn how to use the video editing software you downloaded ages ago but never used..
Draw, write and design pages in Bullet Journal for the video
Record video and put online
Become an overnight youtube star and shoot to fame (well, maybe not)

I’m being realistic in that I’ll be happy if I achieve even just some of the milestones and not the goals themselves, which I suppose is the point of setting milestones anyway.

Hopefully February will be a brighter month, I always work better when the sun is shining!

What goals are you setting for February?
